    The Sung Room

We want to invite visitors to linger in this space for a moment. To exist with it—outside, inside, and around it. To set out from it and relate to the surrounding environment. To be truly present in the world, emphasizing a deeper relationship with space and time.

Proximity, with David Chalmin (live) & Bryce Dessner

With Proximity, we present a unique project where music, space, and technology come together. Here, we compose not only in terms of time but also for a spatial sculpture specifically designed for De Toonzaal and the Willem Twee studios. We are thrilled to collaborate with David Chalmin FR (Dream House Quartet) who will be performing live on guitar and electronics. During the preparations new musical material is created by David together with Bryce Dessner USA (The National) especially for Proximity—featuring guitar loops, drones, field recordings, and electronic synths. This will be premiered on Dec the 5th in De Toonzaal.
