With Cells, Strijbos & van Rijswijk explore the dynamic possibilities of the cello. Rustling, whistles and acoustic deviations create a mysterious atmosphere. The cello's natural sound, as well as all sorts of electronically-modified sounds, is used. The piece reaches its climax through melodious lyrical passages. Cello: Jacqueline Hamelink.

The duo's trademark is a combination of computer compositions and spatial elements, and innovative technological music and design. These composers drive their research to areas where several disciplines meet and cross. The essence of their compositions is the interplay between concrete, pure or processed materials and more traditional harmonic and/or modal music sources. Strijbos & van Rijswijk are supported by the Provincie Noord Brabant and the FPK (Dutch performing arts fund).
