The exhibition ‘Signal vom Dachstein’ is a community art project in the Styria region of Austria that launched in 2021 with our landscape opera 'Signal am Dachstein' on the Dachstein Glacier. The project spans several years and interweaves multiple artistic lines by various artists.

‘Signal vom Dachstein’ is an exposition as a result of a 4 year community art project in the Dachstein region from 2021 tot 2025, in which many artistic threads are woven together. The first year this long term project was launched at the summer solstice at the Dachstein glacier for which we especially composed a landscape opera together with the La Strada Graz Festival. The overtures of which already began in the valley around the Dachstein. With this prelude, space was created for communal reflection on the future of the climate-sensitive Alpine region.

Today nature has become fragile, the glaciers are disappearing. With our landscape opera, we asked for fawareness on site because of the consequences of climate change. The Dachstein Glacier in Austria is one of the highest points in the Northern Alps, but also one of the places that constantly reminds us of the horrifying fact that it will be gone in approximately 30 years from now. Our works always try to connect the landscape, the music and the audience and we sincerely hope to raise more attention for the awful climatic disaster that is currently taking place on Dachstein.
