People. Objects. Moments. Ideals. We lose them, all of us. We recognize the loss of some, but our fickle memory can play tricks on us. You don’t choose what stays with you and what doesn’t. Memories are unreliable, in fact they can even transform. What happens later in your life can change your memories so much that you are left with a different past.

And what happens to what gets lost? What happens with the hollow emptiness that remains when you lose something? Is that the space you need to make way for something new?

The charismatic dancers and acrobats of Panama Pictures meet each other in parallel worlds. An architectonic decor divides the space into different layers. This unusual design by scenographer Sammy van de Heuvel gives an interesting architectural image. In this peculiar universe, the men defy all laws of gravity. They challenge each other with exhilarating air and floor acrobatics and find solace in being together.

Exciting musical encounter

Panama Pictures asked her regular composers Strijbos & Van Rijswijk to create a new composition in which their electronic soundscape enters into a dialogue with the clarinet and double bass of Han Stubbe and Hannes d’Hoine. These idiosyncratic/unconventional musicians from the well-known DAAU (Die Anarchistische Abendunterhaltung) in Antwerp play live creating a stimulating musical encounter in which exciting rhythms and warm tones mix.
